Inaugural Bio-IT World Asia 2012 Conference
The annual Bio-IT World Conference & Expo in Boston has established itself as a premier event showcasing the myriad applications of IT and informatics to biomedical research and the drug discovery enterprise since its debut in 2002. Over 2,000 delegates representing 30 countries have gathered yearly to attend 125+ technology and scientific presentations and view an expansive exhibit hall of 100+ companies. Now, Bio-IT World Conference continues its exceptional series of educational and networking-oriented programming with the announcement of the Inaugural Bio-IT World Asia Conference.
Bio-IT World Asia 2012 will bring together life sciences, pharmaceutical, informatics, and IT professionals from all over Asia and the rest of the world to one unique location, June 6-8, 2012. The Event provides the perfect venue to network, share information, and discuss enabling technologies that are driving biomedical research and the drug development process.

Biodetection Technologies 2012 Conference
The 20th Biodetection Technologies Conference 2012, June 28-29 in Washington, DC, is an internationally recognized event for experts and professionals involved in the detection & identification of biological threats. This conference will review feedback from end-users of detection and point-of-care devices and explore the latest R&D developments and commercialization efforts in the cutting-edge fields of biodefense related technologies. Attendees will be able to network with and share perspectives and experience with end-users, vendors, OEMs, and first-responders from deployed and near-deployment stages.
Other topics to be discussed include: cost-effective, sensitive, selective, and reliable detectors for low resource conditions; point-of-care and clinical applications for pathogen, virus, and threat detection and identification; simple, easy-to-use devices for air-, water-, and food borne pathogens without PCR; point-of-care assays for resource limited, lab and clinical settings; mobile labs; technological challenges for rapid/early/specific sensitive detection; reagentless vs. reagent biodetection systems; the use of Raman and Mass spectroscopy, TIRF and other spectral methods for robust biodetection; the role of nanotechnology and system miniaturization; MEMS and bioMEMS; the use of biochip technology; micro- and nanofluidics; advances in microarray and sequencing technologies; bioinformatics and forensics for biodefense; and reducing false positives vs. detector sensitivity; field-deployable devices.
