Provides Enhanced Features and Functionality to University and Industry Researchers

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The iBridge(SM) Network, a program of the not-for-profit Kauffman Innovation Network, Inc., announced today the redesign of its Web site, www.iBridgeNetwork.org. The not-for-profit aggregates research materials, technologies, and discoveries on the site, providing innovation seekers with access to university-developed innovations, leading to further advances and next-generation products and services. The new site design makes finding innovative technologies even easier, enhances user profiles to help facilitate collaboration and presents a clear road map on how users can maximize their use of the iBridge Network.

"The new simplified, intuitive design of the iBridge Network Web site, enables university and industry researchers to share or find innovations as quickly and easily as possible," said Laura Paglione, director of iBridge Network. "Our mission is to provide the catalyst for bringing today's innovations to their fullest potential and the new design of our Web site allows for just that."

With nearly 70 universities supplying more than 4,600 innovations on the iBridge Network, it is fast becoming the destination of choice for university researchers and technology transfer officers, as well as industry to share and discover best practices and research across a variety of leading institutions and topic areas. The new Web site is designed to encourage open and efficient communities with improved profiles, advanced navigation, search capabilities and personalized services such as the iBNewsfeed, which notifies users of new developments tailored to their interests.

Unlike IP portals and other Web sites, the iBridge Network was created for the sole purpose of providing researchers with a place to promote ideas, connect with other experts and share existing tools, while providing industry experts a place to find the newest innovations with endless potential. Whether high profile research topics or lesser known niche areas of expertise, the iBridge Network provides equal opportunity for all research with no emphasis on transaction values or dollar amounts. The iBridge Network does not profit from any member transactions.

"The iBridge Network is truly a collaborative community that helps drive university-based innovation and discovery to greatest impact," said Joseph Smith MD, PhD, vice president of emerging technologies at Johnson & Johnson and iBridge Strategic Advisory Board member. "From an industry perspective, the new Web site will make it that much easier for companies and universities to find the partners and resources to bring a solution to the marketplace."

Universities, research institutions, and other non-profits may use the iBridge Web site to distribute and license a variety of items, including software, research tools, databases, teaching materials, surveys, reference materials, patent-protected technologies and ongoing research activities. Postings cover a wide range of academic subjects from nanotechnology to life sciences to law to many others.
