The San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) -- a campus research unit of the University of California, San Diego -- is the focus of computational activities for the National Partnership for Advanced Computational Infrastructure (NPACI). In operation since 1986, SDSC has provided the national research community with access to the highest-performance computers available; conducted applications and technology research/development projects; trained researchers, educators, and students; and facilitated technology transfer to industry and government. Within NPACI, SDSC will broaden its focus to include partnership with 37 other academic and research institutions.
